Managing emotions and being true to others and to self is important. Mentoring provides a platform to enable strong bonds to occur between the teacher, student and the parent body, which in turn will help the school understand the requirements of the child and cater to his/her educational needs and emotional support. Mentoring provides an arena for students to relate to a teacher and love a teacher beyond the subject. The teacher becomes the second parent and reciprocates the same. This bond is strengthened through home visits undertaken by the Mentor. Thus, the Mentor becomes a role model and an emotional sounding board to his/ her mentee. This practice will in turn help the child grow emotionally strong and independent.
